Drowned in the Dark

Welcome!

A long time ago, when Blades in the Dark was new on the scene, I made a hacked playbook out of my desire for a darker, more chaotic version of the Whisper. And most of that time, the playbook Shriek sat on a gdoc for personal use. Eventually the unplaytested/draft form of the playbook was put out to the internet, and gathered attention for those looking for a similar twist that I had when initially making it. And as far as most are aware, that was the last anyone saw of the Shriek.

But in the background, through years of playing Blades, the playbook improved and refined and was joined with some other creative playbook ventures - the Squint and Helix.

Although nothing is ever truly done, it is time for these playbooks to step out to the public and no longer simply be a personal creation. I hope you all enjoy these and have as much fun as I did making them and playing with them!

The Playbooks

Shriek - A demonic-infused chaos seeker, abusing dark magics for powerful gains.

Squint - An academic rogue collecting and using knowledge in their quest for understanding.

Helix - Advanced playbook. A single body shifting forms between two minds, and the conflict that comes from them.
